Sickness of life

Sickness, a word always linked to ill health. But is it only for illness?

Sickness, a word always linked to ill health. But is it only for illness? Despite today’s advances in society with superior technology, groundbreaking achievements in modern science, and fantastic discoveries in micro and nano technologies, we all still face ONE imminent threat: Sickness. Nobody escapes it. It comes in many forms and affects the rich, the poor, the well-learned, and even those who are health conscious. Since the beginning of time, humanity has been plagued by one type of sickness or another. With modernization, this “sickness” has also evolved. Pollution of Mother Earth and the constant enrichment of genetically modified foods have made this “sickness” even stronger.

What actually does this “Sickness” mean? According to most dictionaries, sickness is simply defined as an “unhealthy condition of body or mind.”

It can be a bacteria- or virus-related problem, but it can also be a mental or emotional problem. An unhealthy mind can arise from many angles. It could be anything that does not go according to plan. Yes, that is right: if one’s life is not progressing as desired, or obstacles keep appearing, or results are not as expected, then one is “Sick.” It is not normal but is definitely common to face these problems. There is a difference between normal and common — never assume that what you are experiencing is normal.

All things, whether creation or destruction, start with the mind. The weapon of destruction is energy, most commonly expressed as thoughts and emotions. When destructive thoughts and emotions persist, they weaken us over time. Recall: when you are very angry, frustrated, or worried about something from the past, did you feel exhausted? Some people feel energized when angry, but exhaustion often follows after the situation is resolved. Prolonged stress tends to manifest as fatigue.

“Our energy is the fuel for our negative thoughts and emotions.”

How do we tackle or handle these destructive thoughts? Is positive thinking enough? Is having the right diet enough? Is a non-interference attitude sufficient? Or do some prefer to bury their head in the sand, hoping that if they cannot see or hear it, it isn’t real, or that this “Sickness” won’t see them?

Very often, when people come for therapy or consultation, they hear about what we do and comment: “Oh, so you teach people to think positive?” No. Here at AMTCT, we do not advocate “positive thinking.” Positive thinking, in essence, does not exist. By trying to convince ourselves to “think positive,” we are acknowledging that we are already thinking negatively. Positive thinking is a trap within the polarity of life: we cannot be “positive” without “negative” as the foundation of comparison.

But once you understand how the mind works and how energy works, once you realize the truth of life on this Planet, slowly this “sickness” becomes non-existent.
