The Main Aspects of a Spiritual Practitioner

Let's explore and understand what it takes to be a Spiritual Practitioner.

  1. Psychic Aspect: Practice moderation in everything.
  2. Emotional Aspect: No jealousy, no rumor-mongering, no lying, no being a busybody, and no expression of emotional outbursts such as shouting, crying, or laughing excessively.
  3. Mental Aspect: No negativity, no suspicion, and no excessive thinking.

Difference Between a Religious Practitioner and a Spiritual Practitioner

Many people are confused between the terms “Spiritual Practitioner” and “Religious Practitioner.” Religious practitioners follow their holy books and attend churches, temples, or mosques. A spiritual practitioner, however, practices without conditions tied to religious belief systems and follows the Universal Law.

What Is the Universal Law?

The Universal Law can be understood as religious ethics without emphasizing saints or prophets. Remove figures such as Jesus, Nabi Muhammad (S.A.W.), or Guru Nanak, and what remains are their teachings.

Many religious scholars mistakenly focus on saints and prophets instead of the Creator. Spiritual practitioners respect saints and prophets but focus solely on the Creator.

To a spiritual practitioner, there is only one Creator. Everything else is secondary. Remove religion from practice and you become a spiritual practitioner. Add religion back, and you become a religious practitioner.

Question & Answer

Q: “When you say to remove religion from practice, do you mean belief systems?”

GM: Religious people adhere strictly to their religion. Spiritual practitioners integrate teachings from all paths. Religion often claims only one path leads to salvation, while spiritual practice recognizes that all paths eventually lead there.

Spiritual practitioners believe we are all divine beings in growth. Religion teaches eternal servitude, while spirituality teaches eventual divine maturity.

Energy Work by Spiritual Practitioners

Some spiritual practitioners work with energy or magick, which may contradict religion. There are practitioners of Light and practitioners of Magick. When negativity arises, they become practitioners of Darkness.

Just as religions have denominations, spiritual paths have many groups such as Light Workers, Starlight Workers, New Age Practitioners, Awakened Ones, and Followers of Divine Light. Personally, I prefer the term Light Worker.

Why Religions Were Created

Religion was not created by God or saints. Jesus never called himself a Christian. Buddha never called his teachings Buddhism. Religion was formed by humans seeking identity and control.

Over time, rules were altered according to human desires. Today, religious groups fight among themselves, claiming exclusivity to salvation. This was never the original intent.

In Buddhism, divisions such as Mahayana and Theravada emerged. Tibetan Buddhism added political and hierarchical systems. All of these are human-made structures.

In summary, religion became a business driven by power and recognition. It is now one of the largest industries in the world.
